West Coast Classics are proud to present an obviously always garaged and well kept rust free example of this 1955 Ford Thunderbird with factory hard top and with factory specifications and options including; 'Ford-o-matic' automatic transmission, fender skirts, tach, clock, power 4-way driver seat, heater and defroster, AM radio and it's original 292 V8 4V engine!
One of the earliest collectibles amongst post-war cars, the two seater Thunderbirds of 1955-57 have if anything only gained in popularity as the years have passed which inspired the tribute models built between the years 2002-05. They were originally a sales triumph over Chevrolet's Corvette with clean styling, creature comforts and of course V8 refinement.
This particular example was restored by its previous owner in it's original factory 'Torch Red' (color code R) color paint with matching original 'Red & White' (trim code B) interior and with the engine having been dressed and detailed! The floor boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas are solid and rust-free and the car has a very straight body - obviously an always garaged and cherished car since new. The car has it's original factory matching color hard top and its original 292 4V V8 engine which has reportedly been rebuilt and which is obviously therefore extremely strong and powerful and sounds magnificent!
This particular car drives very well - must be driven to be fully appreciated - does not miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles! The transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears and the car has four relatively new radial wide white wall tires.
This is a great opportunity to own a very nice example of a beautifully restored as required over the years 1955 Thunderbird with the 292 4BBL V8 engine and a very striking example which is a wonderful daily driver car for the T-Bird enthusiast.
