Designed by the legendary Virgil Exner in 1955, the 'Forward Look' design of the De Soto with a snappy two-tone paint job and a list of features that would make any automaker proud. From it's inception in 1928 De Soto had always built cars that were distinguishable from their similar Chrysler cousins. The DeSoto was arguably always more exciting and sportier looking than any of the standard Ford's and Chevrolet's as the model was graced with bright backswept fender ornaments which encompassed the headlights and large chrome lined color sweeps which extended the length of the car with even more trim affixed to the lower rocker panels.
