Interior Cabin

Styled in an art-deco tri-tone Blue pattern utilizing standard vinyl and cloth bench seating. It retains its vintage 'Delco' AM radio and the signature dashboard clock mounted directly above the glove box.

The floor pans and floor braces remain remarkably rock-solid and in structurally excellent condition

Boasting an elite level of craftsmanship, this vehicle stands out as one of the finest classic Chevrolets on the market, featuring laser-straight body panels and exceptional alignment. Symmetrical, uniform gaps line the doors, hood, and trunk, all of which operate effortlessly. The glass throughout this Impala is in pristine condition, with the side windows offering a seamless, precise fit.

The car is finished in a vibrant, two-tone Tropical Turquoise and White Hardtop color scheme. The base coat/clear coat paint has been meticulously wet-sanded, buffed, and polished over countless hours to achieve a brilliant, mirror-like reflection.

The extensive chrome and stainless steel trim was a signature design element of the 1958 model and is flawless, with every piece being brand new or in showroom condition. The entire brightwork package, from the grille and bumpers to the rocker and side moldings, is visually stunning.

Completing its classic look, the car rides on OEM-style steel wheels fitted with pristine hubcaps and fresh wide whitewall tires.

The interior mirrors the high standards of the exterior, featuring a factory-correct color combination that complements the paint.

The immaculate door panels look brand new, accented by pristine handles and trim. During the restoration, new carpeting, sill plates, headlining, and sun visors were installed, all of which remain in beautiful condition.

It retains the classic front and rear bench seating, including the split-back front seats, fully restored with fresh padding, upholstery, and modern seat belts.

The metal dashboard is beautifully finished to match the exterior paint, housing fully functional gauges and immaculate brightwork, alongside a color-matched factory-style steering wheel.

The trunk is equally well-detailed and structurally sound, complete with a correct-style mat, spare tire, and jack.

The engine bay is detailed to the same show-quality standard as the rest of the vehicle. Both the inner fender wells and the firewall are structurally sound and highly finished.

Under the hood sits a powerful 348 cubic-inch V8 engine, equipped with a factory-spec intake manifold and a Rochester four-barrel carburetor. The engine is dressed with classic Chevy Orange valve covers and a correct assembly air cleaner, while a Harrison radiator and mechanical fan handle the cooling.

This '58 model is equipped with factory-style power steering for effortless driving. Braking is handled by traditional four-wheel drum brakes, and the exhaust system features original-style manifolds routing through dual pipes and stock mufflers.

The 348 V8 delivers power through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission back to a stock-specification rear differential.

An inspection of the undercarriage reveals an incredibly solid foundation. The floor pans and structural floor braces are in excellent condition with no rust issues, and the heavy-duty frame shows no signs of damage or past abuse.

Finally, a new fuel tank has been installed, and the entire front suspension was fully rebuilt during the restoration process.

There's no better example of GM's styling and engineering prowess than the top-of-the-line 1958 Chevrolet 'Bel Air' Impala which used an all new and one year only bodyshell shared with Pontiac and was Chevrolet's sole convertible offered in that year. This exclusive model proved to be a ground breaking model for Chevrolet with the new 'Impala' name becoming legendary and synomonous with Chevrolet in the coming years.

The '58s were longer, heavier, lower and wider than the 1955-57s. Styled in the Harley Earl idiom they were 'rounder' than their 'straighter' predecessors and they expressed commendable restraint in the era of tailfin excesses and were solidly built. The limited edition Impala, a package option for the Bel Air hardtop and convertibles, featured special trim, deluxe interiors and the steepest price in the division. A sterling reception caused Chevrolet to expand the Impala offerings into a separate series for '59.

This particular example was ordered with the optional 'W' big block 348 Turbo Thrust 250HP V8 matched to a Rochester single 4 Barrel Carb and power steering for a much improved and modern drive, fender skirts and a Continental kit.  These cars bristled with the latest in modern appointments and had few rivals in the luxury market and the 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air Impala helped Chevrolet regain the number one production spot in this recession year.

The 348 V8 is extremely strong and powerful and this particular car drives absolutely magnificently - must be driven to be fully appreciated - does not miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - the transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the car is an absolute pleasure to drive

This is a very rare opportunity to own the 1958 Chevrolet Impala 2 Door Hardtop Sports Coupe with Power Steering, a unique and very distinctive and iconic one year only design of these rare luxury models built in 1958, in absolutely stunning driving and looking condition!

You will long and hard to find a finer example of this 1958 Chevrolet Impala fitted with air bags suspension and power steering, power windows and locks available anywhere else.
