Once again Chevrolet came out with a totally redesigned full-size car with both bodywork and chassis completely changed. The 1950s were gone, and so were fins, baroque trim and fanciful panel shapes. The result was very clean and uncluttered, only the side flashes seemed held over from the past. In this case, the newer bubble top look was added and gives this Impala a smooth, rounded look with its roofline without pillars and the curved glass gives the car a very airy, almost aquarium like feel when sitting in the cockpit.

This Impala was the subject of a comprehensive body off restoration by the previous owner. The car was torn down to the frame, sand blasted and refinished with numerous new parts including adjustable air bag suspension, fuel and brake lines, uprated Wilwood front and rear disc brakes, and a rebuilt front end. The body was finished in a vibrant "Immersion Blue Pearl" and mated to a brand-new coated Roadster Shop chassis, which would give the car modern day handling characteristics. Bumpers were re-chromed and stainless-steel trim was replaced or refreshed as needed. Rounding out the look are matching painted custom 17-inch wheels mounted on Falken rubber.

Upgrades to the original spec include a new fuel injected Chevrolet LS3 V8 crate engine mated to an 4L60 automatic transmission with a Ford 9-inch rear end, both engine and transmission currently have only test miles, so the powertrain shows very little mileage since installed. Additional upgrades include power steering, oversized Mattson's custom aluminum radiator as well as Vintage Air A/C.

The retrimmed two-tone grey interior discretely hides the climate control system and modernized gauges adorn the vintage facia while new carpeting was also added. A custom center console was added, with the glovebox hiding the airbag suspension controls and the MSD control module.

Since being fully restored the car has been driven less than 100 miles since its completion. The car was extremely well cared for and stored in the renown collector owners climate-controlled facility.

A classic machine with good looks that have stood the test of time, this uprated machine will no doubt provide plenty of enjoyment, performance and comfort to its lucky new owner.

Powered by a 430hp LS3 engine with performance EFI intake and a 4L60E automatic transmission. Has a Roadster Shop chassis, Wilwood 6-piston brakes, rack & pinion steering and Ridetech air-ride, plus Vintage Air and Dakota Digital gauges.

This custom 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air bubble top is powered by a GM crate 430hp LS3 engine that has been enhanced with a performance EFI intake to optimize responsiveness and drivability, and it is paired with a 4L60E automatic transmission. Exhaust is routed through a custom-fabricated system, and the vehicle is built on a Roadster Shop chassis setup that incorporates Wilwood 6-piston power brakes for increased stopping capability and rack & pinion power steering for more precise input and control.

Ridetech air-ride suspension allows the ride height to be adjusted as needed for show or driving conditions. The exterior is finished in PPG 'Immersion Blue' paint, fully sanded and buffed to achieve a uniform high-gloss surface, and the bodywork reflects extensive preparation to ensure proper panel alignment and fitment.

The interior features a custom two-tone design with adjustable bucket seats and a center console constructed to complement the vehicles upgraded mechanical systems while providing driver comfort. The dashboard hosts Dakota Digital Retrotech gauges that replicate the original style while providing modern accuracy and functionality. A chromed tilt column supports a smaller-diameter 1962 Impala-style steering wheel.

A Vintage Air climate-control system, combined with Dynamat insulation throughout the cabin, provide a controlled and quieter interior environment suitable for extended driving. The undercarriage is finished to the same standard as the exterior, with components cleaned, painted, polished or coated as appropriate.
