Purchased by most recent southern California owner in 11/2006 with 71,880 actual miles and obviously always garaged and rarely driven since new! We recently purchased the car in great daily driving condition and had the car serviced at the renown 'British Car Clinic', in Santa Monica, California. The clutch, pressure plate and entire braking system have approximately 1,200 miles on them and the car drives like a dream! The engine is smooth and responsive with the renown Healey rumble identifying the Healey straight six as much as a Ferrari's sound does it's V12! The 4 speed transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears, including the reverse gear and the overdrive function works as it should which means it works through all the gears and not just as a fifth speed which is great for highway driving! The car is rust free and we have taken many high quality large pixel photographs of all the rust-prone areas both whilst the car was raised on a lift and on the ground and have attached them below.
The car looks extremely impressive with an older and somewhat faded and used but still acceptable black re-paint and the red interior is in exceptional and in mostly original specification condition (apart from the after market CD player) and with original gold type gauges which are all in correct working order! The black soft top is in great shape, both functionally and otherwise, but please note that the rear plastic window zipper fastener is broken. The car had four factory chrome wire wheels which are in great condition and a spare aluminum wire wheel (not chrome). The car also has a rare and highly desirable matching black fiberglass hard top which is great for winter driving. As stated earlier, the engine is extremely strong and powerful and sounds absolutely magnificent - this is a rare opportunity to own a perfect candidate for an easy start full restoration of an already perfect daily driving BJ-7 roadster - a perfect project for the British car or Austin-Healey enthusiast or simply a perfect daily driver for any British sports car enthusiast or collector!
