West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional example of this last year 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible with a matching #'s 327cid/350HP L79 V8 'HT' code engine matched to a 4 speed manual transmission! The car is extremely striking in its original 'Rally Red' color (code 974) paint and 'Red' (trim code 407) standard vinyl interior trim with a new White soft top matched to its factory optional 4 speed manual transmission, Positraction rear end and new bolt on wheels with 'Redline' radial tires.

The car was purchased by it's original owner at 'Luby Chevrolet', the Chevrolet dealership of Denver, Colorado on 11-1-1966, a Lakewood, CO resident and reportedly the car eventually made its way into the hands of the noted and renown Corvette collector Paul Pierce of Louisville, KY. Pierce sold the car to the also renown 'Pro Team Corvette' of Napoleon, OH sometime in 2012 from where it was sold to it's next collector/owner of Scottsdale, AZ. The car was obviously purchased by Paul Pierce, noted for his Bloomington Gold Corvette's, because of the car's pedigree. It is a very early model built during the second week of production of the final 1967 year. It is # 272 of 22,940 1967 Corvettes and it is 1 of only 2,241 in 'Rally Red'. Chevrolet apparently did not track interior colors but very few Red bodies had matching Red interiors so this is definitely one of the first, if not the first, Red-on-Red '67's built. It is also unique having been built at the AO Smith plant in Livonia, MI on 8/23/1966. The C2 Corvettes (1963-67) were so popular that Chevy outsourced some of the bodies to Smith. They are considered by enthusiasts as more collectible than a body made in St Louis. The car was finally assembled on 9/7/1966 at the Corvette plant in St Louis and it was delivered to 'Luby Chevrolet' in Denver on 11/1/1966.

The car was equipped with a small block 327 engine with the L79 option, which is the 350HP version. It also came with the M21 Close Ratio 4 speed transmission, Positraction, and a 3.55:1 rear end. These are all go fast options and the originals are still with the car. The intake manifold and carb were replaced as was the radiator and the alternator. The car has it's correct air cleaner and upper and lower ignition shielding. The brake master cylinder is original as is the driveshaft. Individual suspension components have been replaced and the tires are Red striped modern radial replacements of the old bias ply tires. The carpet is new as are the seat covers. The seat belts were replaced by the only guy certified to do so by NCRS. The top is new but the frame and moldings are original. The door panels, handles and knobs, dash and instruments, and all glass are original. The dashboard is nice and original and the clock and factory radio still work. The undercarriage is rust free and nicely detailed.

The car will be sold with a copy of the original selling dealer invoice showing the car's original options and also the actual original owners Protection plan & warranty booklet with the original factory Protecto-plate. Matching #'s L79 327/350HP engine 7100272 V0826HT pad; correct 3892657 casting # with VIN # stamped on the engine pad. M21 Muncie Close Ratio 4 speed manual transmission. Correct matching # AN code (7 14 666) 3.55:1 ratio Positraction rear end. The car will also be sold with a thick file documenting the cars history and with comprehensive service records.

The car car is exceptionally well preserved, as would be expected for a car out of such a prominent collection. It has no signs of any accidents and with bonding strips intact and which is the beneficiary of an obviously recent beautiful repaint in it's original 'Rally Red' factory color and looks extremely striking with it's rare matching 'Red' interior and new 'White' soft top. The car has new weather stripping and re-chromed bumpers.

The car must be driven and seen to be truly appreciated - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that tracks like glue on corners and will give any modern day sports car a run for it's money! The 4 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears and the temperature always remains cool!

This is a rare opportunity to own a rare and fantastic daily driving and never abused example of this last and most collectible year of the second generation Corvette, a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette 327/350HP matching #'s engine Roadster with a Positract rear end, 4 speed manual transmission, tint & new bolt on wheels!

This is one highly desirable and collectible unabused example of one of the best styling efforts of the decade, a genuine grand touring car in every sense of the word, this shortest lived Corvette design (1963-67) is probably the most sought after apart from the 1953-1958 models and they are seemingly increasing in value and desirability each year!

This particular early 1967 Corvette Roadster with desirable original 'Rally Red' color paint and matching interior with a Posi rear end matched to a 4 spd trans and being sold with its original Protecto-plate and owners manual is sure to prove a most worthy investment for any Corvette collector or classic American car enthusiast!
