West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional example of this desirable original southern California (with original 1970's Blue CA license plates) 1977 Chevrolet Corvette L82 350/210HP V8 (1 of 6,148 built) coupe with a rare 4 speed close ratio manual transmission (1 of 2,060 built) with all original body panels and with absolutely no signs of any rust or bodywork/accidents, original matching # L82 350/210HP V8 (correct CLD 350/210HP, mt code) engine (an expensive $495 option in 1977) and original factory options including; power disc brakes, power steering, power windows, power door locks, power antenna, cruise control, rear window defogger, AM/FM stereo cassette radio with dual rear speakers (replaced with Pioneer CD player), T-Tops and air conditioning!

The car is in excellent condition and the interior and the trim is also beautiful throughout. The L82 Corvette had a designated fifth digit VIN number with a letter 'X' to designate the high performance 210HP V8 engine option instead of the letter 'L' for the base motor.

After Corvette's various legendary big block 396 with 425HP & the various 427 engines of the sixties, including the limited production L88 and then eventually the LS6 454 in 1971, Chevrolet continued production into the early seventies with the big block engine but by 1975 it was dropped from the Corvette range, as along with the rest of the industry, de-tuning to meet increasingly strict emissions testing regulations legislated out of existence virtually every American high performance car by the mid-seventies, with the Corvette alone remaining the almost sole choice for the muscle car enthusiasts. And so the Corvette continued with a pair of small block V8 engines, the standard 350 V8 and the obviously more desirable and upgraded high performance L82 with performance oriented rear axle ratios. With its strong torque output and relatively light weight, this Corvette still provided strong performance and thrilling driving dynamics and equipped with this L82 option engine, the Corvette was the fastest car in the U.S until 1979, rivaled only by the limited numbers of the Pontiac 400 Trans Am 6.6L of the same year.

This is obviously one very rare and highly desirable example of this classic American sports car - a completely rust and accident free original southern California 1977 Chevrolet Corvette in very striking colors and condition and with factory air conditioning, power windows, mirror roof T-Tops and the high performance original matching numbers L82 engine matched to a 4 speed manual transmission and 'Gymkhana' suspension option.

An obviously always garaged and unabused example, the engine purrs under the hood and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly through the gears - an absolute pleasure to drive without any of the older Corvette typical shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day sports car a run for its money!
