A 1993 Mercedes-Benz 600SL in all original condition with only 4,370 original miles, with original factory 'Signal Red' (color code 568) paint and original 'Cream Beige/Mushroom' (Trim code 275) leather interior and with only 2 owners since new, always dealer or Mercedes specialists serviced.
This is a two owner car since new, with the original owner buying the car in June 1993 at 'Mercedes-Benz of Chattanooga, TN' and servicing the car there under warranty. The car was sold to only its second owner in 2/2003 and continued to be regularly serviced at 'Mercedes-Benz of Chattanooga' and in later years at the renown Mercedes-Benz specialists 'Bavarian Auto, Inc' also of Chattanooga, TN.
In 3/2026 the second owner reportedly passed on and the car was inherited by his estate from whom we recently acquired the car and we had the car serviced prior to putting it up for sale at the also renown Mercedes specialists 'Malibu Motors' of Santa Monica, CA where importantly all of the hydraulic convertible top struts were removed and replaced to ensure no leaks or issues. Replacing all the hydraulic cylinders is the definitive solution to permanently fixing the notorious top issues and fluid leaks on a 1993 Mercedes-Benz 600SL (R129 chassis).
The R129 convertible top system relies on 11 or 12 hydraulic cylinders (depending on the exact build date) powered by a central pump. Because all of these cylinders use the same original polyurethane seals, they fail around the same time due to age and chemical degradation. Replacing only the currently leaking cylinder almost always triggers a domino effect, where the renewed system pressure quickly blows out the seals on the remaining old cylinders..
